A Few Do’s and Don’ts DO transplant seedlings in the morning or evening and not at midday DO pick off dead flowers as this will prolong the plant’s flowering time DO burn all dead or diseased wood after pruning DON’T sow thickly or too deeply. The smaller the seed, the shallower the sowing DON’T bury fertilisers too deeply or their beneficial effects will soon be wasted Handy Tip: Don’t forget to scrub all used flowerpots with a solution of 20ml disinfectant to 5 litres water before storing away for winter. This will help to avoid the spread of disease when planting up in the spring. |
