Anne and Andrew Christie from Gençay, near Poitiers, are the local contact and collection point for used postage stamps for the blind. They sort the stamps into foreign and English categories and, two or three times a year, send them off to the Royal National Institute for the Blind in the UK. and now collect used unwanted spectacles to send to a commercial optician in UK. These are then checked and forwarded to Vision Aid, a charity serving African countries.
